We love and respect our horses

WFTR has been very fortunate throughout the years to have horses donated directly into the program or has had donations made for the specific reason of purchasing a horse. We also benefit from being hosted by a boarding stable where there are people willing to “lease” us their horses for use in the program.

We require that all the incoming horses have a 60-90 day trial period to see if they will fit into the program. Within that time they are put into situations similar to those that they will encounter in a riding session and assessed how they cope. We know that not every horse is perfect but we do stress that the horses we use must be sound at the walk and trot and their personality must suit or program.
